Kryemadhi Defines Realistic OSCE/ODIHR Report on June 25 Elections

The Socialist Movement for Integration (SMI) chairwoman Monika Kryemadhi held a meeting on Tuesday with the OSCE/ODIHR monitoring mission chief, Ambassador Peter Tejler. The latest introduced the SMI chairwoman Kryemadhi with the OSCE/ODIHR report on the June 25th parliamentary elections.
Kryemadhi praises the generally realistic sense of this report that confirms some of the problems denounced ahead of the electoral process, like the vote’s buying, police involvement in the process, the criminal exponents influence on the voters and the infringement of citizens’ right for an electoral process that guarantees their free will to support a political parties that represents at best their interests.
The OSCE / ODIHR recommendations on electoral reform were also part of the discussions during this meeting while consensus and transparency were considered as necessary conditions to generate citizens’ confidence in the electoral process.
Meantime, referring to the electoral system the SMI chairwoman Kryemadhi declared that OSCE/ODIHR recommendations should serve as starting point for the resolution of previously experienced problems.
