Director and Drama-Writer Mihal Luarasi Passes Away

The director and drama-writer Mihallaq Luarasi passed away at age of 88. Luarasi was born in Korça on 19129 and after completing the studies in Tirana's Artistic Lyceum continued the professional formation in Theater and Film Academy of Arts in Budapest, Hungary. He has been one of the most active directors of the theater stage in Albania. His professional career reached the apex during a period of time between 1957 and 1973.
Mihal Luarasi's name is also related to one of the most important moment of the Albanian theater history due to his conviction by the communist regime immediately after the play "The Dark Spots". The "Honor of the Nation's" title and "People's Artist" had been awarded to Luarasi due to his long contribution in the scenic art in Albania.
