National Informative Service Director Resigns

The National Informative Service (NIS) General Director, Visho Ajazi Lika resigned on Monday. His resignation letter has been already submitted to the Prime Minister Edi Rama while the motives of this unexpected act have not yet been made public.
Visho Ajazi Lika was appointed in the position of NIS General Director on August 2012. His mandate ended a few months ago but he remained in office waiting for reconfirmation. No names have been presented so far as possible successors in this important position.
By law the NIS General Director is proposed by the Premier and is decreed by the President. This is presumed to have been the motive behind an unexpected meeting between Prime Minister Edi Rama and President Ilir Meta earlier on Monday.
Lika's resignation was subject of a meeting between the Prime Minister, Edi Rama and the President of the Republic, Ilir Meta, this Monday.
They will discusses about the motives of the resignation and for a possible candidate who will replace him in NIS.
