The entire documentation in Ottoman language currently preserved in the State's Central Archive (SCA) will soon be available in a digital format.
This project of mutual interest for both countries was enabled in cooperation with the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), which has donated the equipments needed to complete this process.
"The Ottoman documents preserved in SCA are currently being digitized while at the same time the documents of the Ottoman Empire related to Albania are being digitized in Istanbul. This process will be followed by an exchange of these documents with mutual interest," declared the SCA director Ardit Bido.
Documents digitizing process is expected to make it easier for researchers who want to access these documents, but also for private entities that are mostly interested in property issues. A copy of the digitized documentation will remain one Albania while another copy will be handed over to the Turkish Archives.
