Prostitution Ring Busted in Tirana, 10 Arrested

Tirana police managed to give a harsh blow to the prostitution by destroying on Thursday a criminal group that operated in this sector. A raid coded “Free Taxi 2” led to the arrest of 10 people, informed the Tirana Police Director, Ardi Veliu,
“Some 10 individuals, identified as Ruzhdi Gapi, 41, Edmond Shkalla, 49, Albina Kasa, 26, A. Ndoja, 37, Jani Murati, alias Gezim Kasemi, 59, Altin Sulejmanasi, 44, Elton Mimini, 23, A.L. 44, F.P. 32, and D.D. 42 were arrested on grounds of prostitution exploitation and prostitution exercitation. This raid, conducted by the Illicit Trafficks Section of Tirana Police Directory, finalized a 5-months inquiry with special methods in collaboration with Tirana’s Prosecution.
Two vehicles, 9 cell-phones, a small quantity of cocaine and a sum of ALL 10.000 were seized in quality of material proofs during this raid,” declared Veliu, addressing to the journalists in a press conference convened for this purpose.
