The Minister of Finances Arben Ahmetaj seems to be highly optimistic about the country’s economic growth in the next 4 years. During a speech on Thursday in the framework of Tirana Matching Business conference he declared that country’s economic growth will be up to 6% by the end of this mandate.

“The Albanian government is totally committed to achieve an economic growth of 6% by the end of the 2nd mandate. This objective is based on the numerous reforms currently undertaken by the government. Some 4 laws that aim to facilitate the foreign investors’ entrance in the Albanian market have been already approved. Meantime the discussion over the fiscal package is already ongoing. The tourism sector has also been among the most successful ones in 2016 generating over EUR 1.5 Billion incomes. The tax on profit has been abrogated for a 10-years period of time for the investors operating in this sector,” declared Ahmetaj.

He also stressed that Albania supports the idea of a regional open market that would lead to fees drastic decrease.
