Some 58 short and long-feature films from around the world will be part of Albania's Environmental Film Festival, whose 5th edition kicked off. Various topics such as the importance of the oceans, fauna, natural resources, etc. will come to the public in order to raise awareness of the community and increase the culture of maintenance for the common environmental wealth.

The films will be screened in 14 different places spreading their projections into protected areas such as: National Parks of Shebenik, Llogara and Divjaka, Permet, Korça, Durrës and Peshkopia, as well as at the EU Centers in Tirana, Shkodra and Vlora.

The festival’s opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Tourism and Environment, Blendi Klosi who highlighted two important aspects of environmental policy, such as tightening the law for anyone who committed an environmental crime and mass education of young people to prepare a society that will keep Albania clean.
The festival will last until October 28th and discussions on films in Albanian universities will be organized in addition to film projections.
