The opposition’s leader, Lulzim Basha labeled as a negative record for the parliament the vote against Serious Crimes Prosecution request for the former-Minister of Interior Sajmir Tahiri mandate removal on Wednesday’s session.
“A new negative record was set up by the parliament. This is the first time that prosecution’s request for an MP’s immunity removal is overruled by the parliament. Some 24 MPs of the right or left wing forces mandate has been removed since 1994 for much more ridicule charges. This way of doing was based on a simple logic, the respect of the principle that despite everything it’s up to the justice to decide,” stated Basha.
