The Socialist MP, Erjon Braçe labeled the latest actions of prosecution and DP against former-Minister of Interior Sajmir Tahiri as a plot against justice. In a public statement on Tuesday he stressed that this is just another attempt to prevent the vetting implementation.
“Vetting process most fervent adversaries, the Democrat leader Lulzim Basha, the Socialist Movement for Integration (SMI) chairwoman Monika Kryemadhi and other opposition’s representatives have been shouting the end of justice reform and vetting. They managed to delay the vetting process enabling the existence of this prosecution that should have been already replaced by the Special Prosecutor’s Office (SPAK),” declared Braçe.
Likewise referring to the charges pressed by the Serious Crimes Prosecution against Tahiri he defined this part of the same plot against justice.
“If the prosecution is more than sure that collected proofs are sufficient for MP Tahiri arrest while was not this step taken since October 18 when a mega-operation for the arrest of Habilaj clan members was conducted leading to the seizure of more than 4 tons of cannabis sativa?
The answer is very simple. If the prosecutors would submit this issue to the Serious Crimes Court without proofs that go beyond any shadow of doubt a conflict with the court would be generated. The truth is that prosecution avoided the court on view of the impossibility to present strong proofs,” stated the Socialist MP.
