The Attorney General Adriatik Llalla extends a direct appeal to the politics urging them to avoid any kind of intimidation on prosecutors inquiring on high ranks officials.
During a speech on Tuesday in a seminar titled "War on Narcotics" Llalla stressed that high ranks officials try to interfere when high ranks officials are inquired, indirectly referring to request for the arrest of former-Minister of Interior Sajmir Tahiri due to his alleged ties with international drugs trafficking.
"One of the innovations of the recently adopted justice reform is the prosecutors' total independence during an inquiry. Their independence cannot and should not serve as an opportunity for the politics to curse or hamper the inquiries. It is of crucial importance for the prosecutor to know that he will be able to conduct an inquiry without being intimidated, when the subject of this inquiry is one or more high ranks officials," declared Llalla.
Earlier the Prosecution General involved in a series of replies with Prime Minister Edi Rama following his statements in favor of Tahiri and the attacks on the prosecutors conducting this inquiry.
