Tahiri Issue, Basha Accuses Rama of Pressure on Justice

The Democrat leader, Lulzim Basha accuses Prime Minister Edi Rama of pressure on justice related to former-Minister of Interior, Sajmir Tahiri issue. In a public declaration on Monday he appealed to the USA and EU to exercise pressure on PM Rama preventing him from hampering the justice system.

Basha said that Tahiri submit himself to the law like every citizen instead of hiding behind the parliamentary immunity.

“The intimidations and attacks campaign undertaken since several days by PM Rama, Minister of Interior Fatmir Xhafaj and his predecessor Sajmir Tahiri is a dangerous game which aims to kneel down the justice system while deepening the impunity level in Albania. I extend an appeal to the USA, EU and other international partners who contributed in justice reform drafting and adoption to exercise pressure on the chief of executive and ruling majority ending this intimidations campaign on the justice,” declared Basha.

In conclusion he stated that corruption and crime will be further escalated in Albania the executive is allowed to blackmail and intimidate the justice system.
