Thethi is the first village in the Albanian Alps National Park, which will have a Design Code that will define a set of rules and criteria on what and how to build in the area. This project’s draft was presented during a meeting that took place in Tirana and was attended by architecture students, urban planners, representatives of the Ministry of Environment and Tourism (MET) German Embassy representatives, GIZ agency representatives and many others.
The project, drafted by local and foreign experts, with the support of GIZ, aims to end uncontrolled constructions, recommending residents and institutions to further promote of unique models of traditional architecture. Experts stressed the necessity for this draft transformation into legal regulation (legal instrument) in Albania and its implementation not only in this area, but throughout the Albanian National Alps National Park.
The exhibition "Traditional Architecture - Towers" and a documentary on the summer school organized in Theth with students of architecture and urban planning from Albanian and German universities were also part of this activity.
