1.5 Tons of Drugs Seized in Italy, Two Albanians Arrested

A speedboat carrying a quantity of 1.5 tons of Cannabis Sativa was blocked by the Italian authorities in the coasts of Bari on Friday. The 10-meters long vessel equipped with two powerful engines was noticed by the Guardia di Finanza while approaching to the Italian coasts.

Two Albanians, whose only initials V.L. and T.N and the respective age of 31 and 26 have been made public so far, were arrested in flagrance on board of the drugs loaded speedboat.

The total value in the retail market of the 64 packages of narcotics quantity seized by the Guardia di Finanza was EUR 15 Million.

The arrested Albanians initially tried to elude capture by the Guardia di Finanza by speeding up but failed to do so and were finally captured in flagrance.
