Prosecution Seeks Parliament's 'Blessing' to Arrest Former Minister

The prosecutors of the Serious Crimes requires Parliament's 'approval' to arrest the former socialist Minister of Interior Affairs, Saimir Tahiri.
One of the most favorite ministers of the Premier, Edi Rama, Tahiri is under investigations and risks his arrest on grounds of alleged ties with the drugs smuggling from Albania to Italy, known as Habilaj clan.
Prosecutors requires from the Parliament to approve the immunity removal of Tahiri as a Member of Parliament and at the same time to allow his arrest.
Meantime, the passport of Tahiri is actually suspended and he cannot travel abroad.
Albaniannews.com learned that Tahiri is under observation from the State Intelligence Services to prevent a possible escape.
