The 12th edition of Modern Dance Festival in Albania brings to the public 10 works inspired by social-political factors. The world-premiere of a ballet realized the internationally know Albanian origins choreographer Angjelin Prelocaj raised the curtains of this cultural activity that will now continue with a series of performances between Tirana-Pristine and Durres.
Terrorism and extremism, reflected in the choreographies of some European companies, will be this edition's main topics.
"The art responds inevitably in a way or another to the situation currently experienced by Europe and the episodes of terrorism and extremism. Those topics are of course reflected even in this year's edition program. It is important to offer to the public but also to the professionals the latest research of contemporary dance," said the Festival's Director, Gjergj Prevazi.
According to Prevazi the young choreographers' endorsement is another objective of this festival.
The 12th edition of Modern Dance Festival is financially endorsed by the Ministry of Culture, Durresi Municipality, the French and Austrian Embassies.
