The number of foreign visitors interested in the cultural, natural, maritime or culinary tourism in Albania is rapidly increasing. The latest statistics show an increase of around 17.5% of the visitors during 2016 compared to the previous year. The same positive trend is expected to be confirmed even this year, despite the fact that the year's end is still distant.
Albania offers three opportunities to the foreign visitors to visit some places part of UNESCO's global heritage, the city of Berat, Gjirokastra and Butrint. The Albanian part of Ohrid Lake will also soon be included in this global heritage joining the other side that is already protected by UNESCO.
Likewise there's an increasing interest for the museums, parks and cultural monuments along with the country's rich cultural heritage which often stuns the visitors.
