The Albanian national coach, Christian Panucci, is sure that the Albanian National team will make a qualitative performance in the match against Italy on Monday evening. During a press conference he admitted that this was a special match for him while adding that he felt very comfortable as Albania’s coach.
“I am Italian but at the same time I am more than proud to be Albania’s coach. I will enter the field along with the boys and our success would make more than happy. I expect to face an very angry Italy on view of the multiple critics recently addressed to them but on the other side I am sure that we’ll play well and may even obtain a positive result.
In terms of the 3-0 defeat by Spain the coach partially blamed the multiple absence in his team.
“Seven players, some of them very important, were absent in the match against Spain. I left Sadiku on the bench aiming to avoid him a possible injury ahead of the match against Italy. Meantime Agolli joined the team after an injury thus we could take any chance by letting him 180 minutes in the field during three consecutive days. However we played well and had even some chances to score by hitting the poles,” said Panucci.
