Shkodra, Awareness Raising Activity for Rivers Protection

Buna River, situated in the northern city of Shkodra, welcomed numerous visitors during the weekend in the framework of an activity in defense of the rivers and nature. “Being the change, being a conscientious traveler” was the motto that raised the curtains of this activity that brought together rafting lovers which rowed with their canoes in the river’s flow.
This initiative aims to raise the awareness level on the importance of living in a healthy environment and the urgent need to protect the rivers from pollution.
Buna River is situated in the far end of the south-western segment of the Albanian – Montenegrin border. Shkodra Lake, situated nearby the city in an area between the Rozafa Castle hill and Tarabosh Mountain, is the point of origin of this partially navigable river whose length is 44km.
