The Albanian capital will soon have a new natural park. Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj inaugurated on Monday the works for the transformation of a over 11.000 square meters informal landfill into a natural park equipped with recreational spaces for all group-ages.
“We are focusing in a part of the city in urgent need of greenery. This large territory, which not long ago was being used as informal landfill, was entirely cleansed and will now be planted with over 750 trees. A number of benches, the proper lighting system and different modules to be installed here will soon transform this area into a natural park welcoming all group-ages,” declared Veliaj.
The mayor also stressed that part of this large space will be used for the construction of a new school that will serve to the increasing community in this area.
“A new and modern school, equiped with all the necessary elements, will soon be constructed in this area. This school’s construction is part of the city hall’s project for the opening of 16 new schools in Tirana,” said Tirana’s first citizen.
