NGA New Director to Be Elected Through Competition

The Ministry of Culture announced on Thursday the opening of a competition for the position of director at the National Gallery of Arts (NGA). This decision is based on the fact that the current director Artan Shabani mandate ends within a few days.

In a brief communication with the media Shabani confirmed that he was aware of this decision, adding that he would not run for a 2nd mandate in this position. Shabani was appointed as the NGA director directly by Prime Minister Edi Rama in 2013.

Those willing to run for this position will be requested to submit their application file until October 16. It remains still unclear if the candidates hearing session will take place in presence of the media, as it was the case during the selection of the National Opera and Ballet (NOBT) new director.
