The General Director of State Police, Haki Çako warns of frontal war against any criminal contingent in Albania. During a speech on Wednesday in the framework of a regional conference organized in Tirana by the Interpol Center, the US State Department and the Narcotics Office he declared that no compromise will be accepted in the war against crime.

“Albania’s geographical position urges us not only to strengthen the war against organized crime and any other form of illicit activity but also to synchronize the work with region’s police organizations and the partner countries meeting the western standards. We are perfectly aware of the fact that this is the only path to be followed in the war without compromises against any criminal organization in order to raise our countries’ safety levels,” declared Çako.

The purpose of this conference that is taking place in Tirana from October 2 to October 6 is to set up a regional work group and clear the path to the collaboration with private sector during the investigations against human trafficking in the Balkans, in the framework of Interpol project for a specialized operational network against smuggling, supported by the Office for Narcotics and International Law Enforcement Agencies in the State Department.
