Tourism remains a key element in Tirana’s development. Mayor Erion Veliaj underlined this fact on Wednesday during the inauguration of a new Info-Point in ‘Scanderbeg’ square.

“I am delighted by the fact that we are opening an info-point in city’s starting point on World Tourism Day. We strongly believe that tourism will become a valuable instrument for city’s economy development. Tirana is without any shadow of doubt a main tourist destination for the tourists willing to come to Albania,” said Veliaj.

The mayor stated that incomes from tourism in the capital have been going up generating a very positive impact on the economy. Furthermore, according to Veliaj, this sector provides multiple job opportunities for the young boys and girls in Tirana.

“An increasing number of young boys and girls are being employed in the tourism sector, a process which is having a positive impact on the local economy. The tourism sector is gradually turning into one of the biggest employers of the capital,” declared Veliaj.
