'Daybreak', Part of a Prestigious Festival

'Daybreak' movie, Albania’s official candidate for the “Oscar” award, has been selected as part of the prestigious festival “Warsaw Film Festival” that will take place from October 13 to October 22. This good news was announced by the movie’s director, Gentian Koçi. He expressed the satisfaction for the fact that his creation will participate in a festival of ‘A’ category and of the same importance as those of Cane, Venice, Berlin, Locarno or San Sebastian.

‘Daybreak’ is an Albanian-Greek co-production whose world premiere was in Sarajevo Film Festival. The movie’s protagonist, Ornela Kapetani was awarded “Best Actress” prize in this festival.

Gentian Koçi’s movie narrates the story of a young mother that after being evicted due to the impossibility to pay the rent moves along with her 11-years old son and starts working as nurse for an old lady forced to stay in bed. She must do everything possible to keep the woman alive in order to keep the much needed job.
