The Minister of Infrastructure and Energetic, Damian Gjiknuri announced on Monday government’s project for the country’s energetic infrastructure revitalization.

“A detailed plan for the revitalization of the energetic infrastructure on national scale has been drafted. This plan is based on the successful reform implemented in the energy sector during the government’s first mandate. Thanks to this reform we managed to import up to EUR 90 million of energy without shaking the state’s finances. The energy import enabled an interrupted supply to the citizens despite the summer’s aridness,” declared Gjiknuri.

The minister made this declaration during an inspection of the works for Lapraka’s neighborhood in Tirana network revitalization.

“Some 20 km of cable will be replaced with a new and much more qualitative one. This area will have a completely new energy distribution system within this year,” said Gjiknuri, adding that this investment serves to more than 10.000 inhabitants of this area.
