Voskopoja Churches Restored

Four of the most popular churches in the tourist village of Voskopoja have undergone restorative projects to recover from the damages caused during many years. Currently the works have been completed in the church of Saint Nicholas and Saint Mary, situated in the center of the village, while the process is still ongoing at the monastery of Saint Prodhom and Saint Illyrian church.
The Minister of Culture, Mirela Kumbaro, praised the work done so far during an inspection of the area while adding defining this investment as vital for the cultural heritage values preservation.
"An ALL 12 million fund has been allocated for these churches restoration. Korça is is one of the barns of cultural tourism and the itinerary of the road of faith in Korça has its focal point in Voskopoja," declared Kumbaro.
In addition to the restoration of four churches, the project for rehabilitation of the historic center of Voskopoja includes investments in the road infrastructure of the village.
