Variety of Plays in Metropolis Theater New Season

The Metropolis Theater will come in this new season with a busy calendar of activities that will include masterpieces of world dramaturgy and remake of Albanian works. "Euridita", directed by Jonida Beqo will raise the curtains, but this time not on theater’s stage but in the premises of the Pyramid. Subsequently the activities will follow with the drama of the Albanian drama "Metrofest", but the artistic season will reserve for the public and other performances such as "Night of 12", "Romeo e Zhuljeta" and "Don Quixote".
According to the director, Jonida Beqo the Metropol Theater will try to come closer to the audience in the new season.
“We are in the process of theater’s interior re-decoration as an urban theater that answers to the intellectual and aesthetics needs of today’s Tirana, bringing to the public plays seen in London, Berlin and New York. The way our audience is advancing and its access to knowledge deserves to be compensated with contemporary and qualitative plays,” said Beqo.
The number of spectators in the Metropol Theater went up to 67 000 while 27 premieres have been presented to the public.
