The Europe's Super-Cup 2019 will not be played in Albania's 'National Arena'. UEFA has chosen 'Vodafone Arena', the Turkish team of Besiktash stadium, for the final match of this important European competition.
This means that the Champions League and Europe League winners in the next season will travel to Istanbul playing in a stadium that was inaugurated on April 2016 with a cost of USD 100 million.
The Albanian national stadium, currently under construction, competed along other stadiums like that of Toulouse in France, Astana's in Kazakhstan, Windsor Park in Northern Ireland, Gdansk in Poland, and Sammy Ofer in Haifa, Israel.
Tirana was the only one city to compete with a project and not with a completed stadium due to the fact that "National Arena" is still in the construction phase.
