Two Albanian tenors Josif Gjipali and Kastriot Tusha along with the Italian soprano Lucia Conte participated in a special concern which conveyed some sensitizing messages. This concert was organized in the ancient temple of Dodona situated in Ioannina, Greece.
“A torch for peace’ concert gathered in this ancient temple hundreds of Syrian and Iraqi refugees sheltered in ‘Saint Helen” camp and numerous citizens and intellectuals from Ioannina and beyond.
This artistic event was conducted by Pietro Romano while the music was played by ‘Magna Grecia’ orchestra of Taranto. The Albanian and Italian artists performed for more than one hour classical pieces of Puccini, Verdi, etc.
The concert was conceived as a rupture of barriers between peoples, but also as an expression of the friendship and the harmony that exists between them, where music not only transmits sounds of love but also sounds of hope. It was organized immediately after the performances given by the artists named "Tenors of Peace" the day before at Bylis Theater stage in Albania.
