Drugs Network Busted in Italy, 9 Albanian Arrested

The Italian police gave a harsh blow to the drugs network on Wednesday by destroying to families involved in narcotics smuggling. Some 9 Albanians and 1 Italian were arrested on grounds of cocaine and marijuana possession and distribution in large quantities.

Their arrest finalized an 8-months inquiry focused on two families who operated in Volla Cortese and San Giorgio su Legnano.

A register containing valuable data about their financial activity was also seized by the police during their arrest.

A preliminary verification of these data indicated that the families’ profits from this illicit affair was around EUR 2 million.
