Ten Wildfires Registered in 24-Hours

The risk of wildfires remains still present in Albania. Some 10 new blazes were reported by the Civil Emergencies during the last 24-hours requesting the intervention of more than 100 firefighters and 14 firefighting vehicles to contain the flames.
Large forest areas were burned down due to the wildfires in the districts of Shkodra, Lezha, Dibra, Fier, Elbasan and Gjirokastra. Firefighters battled for hours with the flames supported by 100 Army’s troops, some 70 Forest Police forces and numerous voluntaries. Thanks to their extensive efforts the firefighters managed prevent the situation from getting worst.
The fires situation is being continuously monitored by the Civil Emergencies specialists who renew the appeal to the citizens to immediately report any sign of blaze to the emergency or police numbers.
