"Virtual Cicerone", a well-known practice in every important art museum and gallery in Europe, is being successfully implemented at the National Art Gallery (NGA) in Tirana. This novelty comes in the form of an interactive digital instrument. A smart-phone is all that’s needed for any visitor to obtain information in real time about every artistic object.

This application, which has been tested since last year, is being enriched with 25 artistic creations that include some of the most meaningful elements of the Albanian art history. The works of Kole Idromeno, Spiro Xega and Edison Gjergo are only some of these creations that are being added to the ‘Virtual Cicerone’ app.

It is sufficient to go near a specific work that bears the symbol “V.C.”, take a picture and you will hear a detailed explication about the author, the work itself and the artistic period that it belongs in Albanian and English.

The project serves as a modern and indispensable instrument for those who want to get acquainted with artistic wealth, while aiming at extending to all galleries in the country.
