Albanians walk a lot. This is the result of a recent study conducted by researchers at Stanford University. A map published by this university shows that Albanians make an average of 5500 steps each day.

Albanians are a lot more active compared to the neighboring countries. Greeks make an average of 4000 steps each day while Macedonians make around 5000 steps in a day.

Considering that 5.3 million people die in the world due to lack of movement, researchers measured the activity in millions of people to find out why obesity is a major problem in some countries than in others.

Stanford researchers use smart-phones to track activity levels in thousands of people around the globe. The study used the obtained data to analyze the behavior of 717,000 men and women in 111 states, whose steps were studied for more than 95 days.
