Berat, the City that Attracts More and More Tourists

Berat continues to be one of the most visited cities even in these hot summer days, admitting a high flux of visitors.
Two of its most frequented objects in the period 31 July – 27 August, have been the Iconographic Museum “Onufri” and the Ethnographic Museum which in turn welcomed 6585 foreign and Albanian visitors. The statistics were released by the National Centre of Museums Berat, which briefed the public that its greatest flux of visitors happened throughout the weekends.
“Between January – August the number of visitors has reached 26838, consistently showing that the NCM Berat are unavoidable destinations for foreign visitors, and Albanian visitors as well. The greatest interest has been shown during the weekends”, expressed NCM Berat’s notice.
Berat is one of the most important cities in Albania with a very rich history, and it was officially appointed a museum – city in 1961. It is unique for its considerable amount of monuments and its diverse assortment of genres, which comprise proof of the city’s cultural heritage, historic and artistic, life and work, masterfully created generation after generation by its citizens.
