The prestigious Italian gastronomic magazine, Gambero Rosso has dedicated a very interesting article to the New Bazaar in Tirana, considering it as one of the places where you can revel in some of the best specialties in Albanian cuisine.
Renowned for 20 years as one of the most serious guides to the best Italian restaurants, the Italian magazine called the New Bazaar a destination where you can eat something delicious in any given hour, meanwhile paying special attention to the changes that took place in the area as well.
In Avni Rustemi Square, centered in the Albanian capital, the New Bazaar has existed since 1931 and an investment of EUR 6.5 million has changed its look making it an excellent touristic spot, not afraid of modernism and equal to any other beauties in the Balkan markets, wrote Gambero Rosso.
The Italian magazine was quite impressed by the fish stalls, and other products as well. You pick the fish in the stall, which is cooked instantly and can be enjoyed inside the restaurant or sitting in colourful tables in the open. There are many rotisseries, bakeries, bars and cafes open until late at night, which serve local foods and street foods for example such as meatballs emphasizes Gambero Rosso. Finally the Italian magazine stopped by the area reserved to local artisans, a model which for them resembled the Boqueria market in Barcelona.
