Interurban Transports Association (ITA) protested on Thursday in front of the Ministry of Transports against the licenses that according to them were issued by this ministry in violation of the law.

The protesters accused the actual Minister of Transports, Sokol Dervishaj of issuing 82 parallel licenses during last weeks in exchange of financial benefits.

Tirana -Elbasan line is the main problem, according to ITA president Kujtim Mema, on view of the fact that minister Dervishaj issued two licenses. He claimed that this illicit act was the result of a bargain with a businessman endorsed by the Elbasan Mayor, Qazim Sejdini.

“The licenses issuing problem persists, generating chaos in the interurban transport sector. Tirana - Elbasan line is the most problematic one because the ministry issued two licenses for this line. The 2nd license issuing was a clear violation of the court’s verdict which ordered its suspension,” declared Mema, adding that this way of doing may generate physical clashes between drivers.
