The 5 Winners of the Literary Translation Fund

The Ministry of Culture announced the list of winners for the Literary Translation Fund, from Albanian to foreign languages, for its 2017 run.

This year from the 8 applications sent by foreign publishers, 5 were picked that went through the selection phase supervised by the collegiate and experts of the field. The announced winners are Ylljet Alicka (Narratives with Internationals), Fatos Kongoli (Bolero in the Elderly Villa), Adrian Vehbiu (Mr. Shuti’s Interventions), Luljeta Lleshanaku (Political Summary) and Eni Vasili (I Have Killed).

The Literary Translation Fund this year has a worth of 2 million leke, while the languages that will be published are in Italian, Greek and Spanish. This is the fourth year of the competition, which has become by now an initiative that aims to support Albanian authors and promoting Albanian literature outside the country, but also to support translators and foreign publishers interested in translating Albanian literature.
