The Albanian National Team striker Sokol Cikalleshi officially left Instanbul Basaksehir signing a contract with the Turkish club of Osmanlispor. The 27-years old player signed a three-year agreement and is expected to earn a sum of EUR 850.000 each season.
Osmanlispor paid a sum of EUR 2 million for Cikalleshi’s card, a clear indicator of the club’s confidence in the Albanian striker’s quality.
The deal is with fairly good in the financial aspect but had a cost for the Kavaja striker
He was left aside by the Albanian National Team coach, Christian Panucci after failing to respond to his request to join the team in the preparatory phase ahead of the match with Lichtenstein. This absence was deemed as a disciplinary breach by the coach who rejected Cikalleshi’s request for one-day permission.
“I signed an important agreement. I am happy and sad at the same time, due to this misunderstanding with coach Panucci. However, my absence is not important. All that matters is Albania’s victory,” said Cikalleshi, speaking to journalists after the agreement signature.
