Albania continues to be considered a poor country in Europe, where incomes are at 30% of the European Union average.
But this fact does not stop Albanian citizens from spending more on clothes or other expensive equipment than the other citizens in the EU.
According to the Institute of Statistics (INSTAT) and Eurostat, Albanian consumers spend 4.9% of their total income on clothes, shoes, etc same as EU citizens.
Most of their salaries, around 49% go for food, while the EU citizens spend only 12.3% of their incomes for food.
