Europe League, Scanderbeg's Historic Draw in Zagreb

A goal suffered in the 94th minute prevented ‘Scanderbeg’ from reaching an extraordinary victory last night in ‘Maksimir’ stadium of Zagreb during the first play-off match of Europe League against Dinamo Zagreb.

Korça’s team surprised everyone with the excellent game. Latifi’s goal in the 37th minute finalized a series of attacks since the first minutes of the match. Earlier ‘Scanderbeg’ scored another goal but the side referee devalued everything for the off-position, which was later confirmed as inexistent.

On the other side Dinamo Zagreb game changed during the 2nd half but the Albanian team played very well in the defense sector proving that it has the necessary experience to play in these levels.

A goal scored by Henriques in the 4th minute of the additional time deprived Scanderbeg from the victory against one of Europe’s strongest teams.

Anyway, the 1-1 draw increases Scanderbeg chances to reach one more time the groups stage. The 2nd play-off match will be played next Thursday in ‘Elbasan Arena’.
