Wildfires continue to engulf large areas of the country's territory. The recent data on the fires situation released by the Civil Emergencies on Friday indicate the presence of 8 new blazes in different districts.

Flames engulfed a pine tree forest situated between Lekas and Voskopoja, part of Korça district. Helicopter’s intervention became necessary for fire’s containment because the broken terrain made it impossible for the firefighters to reach the blaze.

Some 7 acres of bushed and 40 cherry trees were burned down due to the huge fires in Dibra district. Meantime the flames destroyed one acres of land and 30 olive trees in Durres district.

Around 65 firefighters, 10 firefighting vehicles and 60 Army’s troops battled for hours with the flames to prevent the situation from getting worst.

The fires situation is being continuously monitored by the Civil Emergencies experts who renew the appeal to the citizens to immediately report any sign of blaze in the emergency numbers.
Nice and tidy.
