Tirana, 28 People to Face Trial in Prostitution Case

Some 28 persons have been sent to trial on Monday by order of the Tirana Prosecution on grounds of prostitution exploitation. A several month inquiry which ended in July indicated that the defendants were all part of a prostitution network that operated in the capital.
This inquiry, conducted by Tirana prosecution in collaboration with State Police, indicated that a hotel owner, named Mentor Koka cooperated with Fllanxa A recruiting young girls for prostitution purposes. A taxi driver, identified as Maringlen A. and the police inspector Elton Sh. were also part of this illicit network that operated in different areas of Tirana.
According to the prosecutors 8 of the defendants will face trial for prostitution exploitation while the remaining defendants will be trialed for prostitution.
