Meta Appoints Presidency's New General Secretary

The President of the Republic, Ilir Meta appointed on Monday the institution’s new Secretary General. Alqi Bllako, a renowned finance expert, was his choice for this important position.
Bllako graduated in Tirana and has completed post-graduate studies, Master of Science in Finance and Accounting from the University of New York and MBA with Banking and Financial Markets in collaboration with Kurt Bosch institution in Switzerland.
He worked as Secretary General in the Ministry of Environment during the period September 2013 - July 2017. Meantime, with the signing of the Paris Agreement, Bllako has served as a National Delegated Authority in relations with the Climate Fund and focal points for the Convention of Biological Diversity, where he has played an active role in the intergovernmental auxiliary body of this convention: the Auxiliary Body for Scientific, Technical and Technological Councils.
