Gambling, SSA: EUR 375 Million Financial Damage in 3 Years

The latest report released on Monday by the Supreme State Audit (SSA) indicated a new negative record in the financial damage caused by gambling. EUR 375 million is the figure of the missing revenues that according to the SSA were not collected by the responsible institutions.

The audited period pertains to the three financial years 2014-2016 activity of the Financial Supervisory Authority (FSA), which coincides with the beginning and end of the "End of Madness" raid, aiming to restore order in the gambling activity in Albania.

“Violation of financial discipline with a negative impact on the performance of the audited entities, totaling ALL 76.4 billion, of which the Gambling Supervisory Authority (GSA), amounting to ALL 50.2 billion as a result of non-exercise of the sanctions for administrative offenses and non-imposed fines in the framework of equipment the confiscation by the financial monitoring unit,” SSA reported.

The National Agency of Natural Resources (NANR) is added to this list with a damage of ALL 19 billion and the Ministry of Economy, Tourism Trade and Entrepreneurship (METTE) with a financial damage of ALL 2.4 billion.
