The Albanian Football Federation (AFF) publicly reacted on Saturday over the Ballist Morina imminent extradition to Serbia. AFF addressed an appeal to the state institutions to intervene within the legal framework to stop extraditing Ismail Morina to Serbia.
“The AFF is fully committed to use all institutional and diplomatic paths and spaces to enable this case review. We are intensively dealing with this issue in order to find a solution that would prevent Morina’s extradition. Every opportunity is being carefully considered by the institution’s legal experts aiming the abrogation of the extradition verdict,” AFF reported.
Ismail Morina, the man who flew the drone on the “Partizan” stadium of Belgrade during the European qualifier between Serbia and Albania on October 14th 2014, which led to incidents and match interruption, has been detained by Croatian police for a couple of days. Morina was passing the Croatian-Montenegrin border when he was stopped by the Croatian authorities.
Dubrovnik Court of First Instance ruled in favor of his extradition to Serbia, a decision that generated immediate reactions from the Albanian fans and the AFF.
