Panucci in Tirana to Sign Contract as the New Coach

The rumors that were heard since several days have been finally confirmed. Christian Panucci will be the new coach of the Albanian National Team. The Italian coach has already arrived in Tirana and his appointment is this position will be officially announced on Wednesday through a joint press conference with Albanian Football Federation (AFF) president, Armando Duka.

Panucci arrived in ‘Mother Teresa’ international airport around midnight and then escorted to Tirana by AFF officials. The 44-years old coach traveled from Miami to Rome and then to Tirana to attend the contract’s signature ceremony.

“Yes, I am happy to be here. We’ll talk tomorrow about everything else,” said Panucci during a brief communication with the journalists in the airport.

The new Italian coach main objective will be to enable Albania’s qualification in Euro 2020 finals. He succeeds in this position another Italian coach, Gianni De Biassi that enabled Albania’s qualification in Euro 2016 finals.
