Match Fixing Suspicions, Kukesi Team Stopped in Austria

Kukesi team experienced a very unpleasant moment last evening in the Austrian capital, Vienna when some of the north-eastern team players were stopped and questioned by the police. The the players questioning may be related to the result fixing suspicions during some friendly matches played by Kukesi in Austria.

The team was stopped around 21:30 after the arrival in Vienna at the end of a 7-hours trip by bus from the city of Kaprun.

The coach Gjoka, goalkeepers Enea Koliçi and Ervis Koci, the players Ylli Shameti, Albert Serran, Rustem Hoxha, Hair Zeqiri and Simon Rrumbullaku were immediately stopped by the police for questioning. The player spent more than three hours in a police station while no official statement has been released yet about the motives of this action.

This situation generated concern among the team’s ranks at the eve of a debut in Champions League against Sheriff Tiraspol.
