The Shkodra-born footballer, Hamdi Salihi has reached an agreement with the Austrian team Wiener Neustadt, currently part of the 2nd League. This club’s sportive director, Andreas Schicker, confirmed this news reported by the Austrian media.

“He may score again. Salihi was highly pleased by the period of time he spent in Vienna thus wanted to come back here with his family. I learned about this thanks to some friends and started looking for him,” said Schicker.

The only concern for the Austrian team remains the Discipline Commission decision that suspended Salihi for 10 matches due to the incidents during a match between Kukesi and Scanderbeg. Anyway, Schicker thinks that this issue will be quickly resolved on vief of the fact that Austrian Football Federation (AFF) will rule that this measure is valid only in Albania.

Salihi has already been part of the Austrian championship, initially with Ried from 2007 to 2009 and than with Rapid of Vienna from 2009 to 2012.
