Taulant Xhaka’s team confirmed its supremacy in the Helvetic championship after prevailing with 3-0 score in the final match against Sion.
After a balanced first 45 minutes Basel got the lead with Delgado since the first minutes of the 2nd half, while a goal scored by Traore at 60th minute increased the chances for victory.
Taulant Xhaka was as usual among starter-players in this match and was even punished with a yellow card at 79thminute. Basel sealed the victory with a goal scored by Lang at the last seconds of the match.
This result enabled Basel to return to the success in Switzerland’s Cup after three consecutive defeats in previous finals. This is the 12th time that Basel wins the cup while continuing to dominate the Swiss football.
