The President of the Macedonia's Football Federation (MFF), Ilco Gjorgioski has not yet taken a final decision about the stadium where the 2nd match between Macedonia and Albania, part of the World Cup 2018 qualifying rounds, will be played.
In a statement to the local media he has clarified that ways are being sought to avoid the potential risks carried by this Balkans derby.
"We are aware of the risks carried by this Balkans derby. Every possible measure that would prevent any problem during this match is being carefully considered. No final decision has yet been taken about the stadium where the match will be played. The only clear fact for the moment is that Skopje's stadium meets the criteria. The 2nd candidate in this list is Strumica stadium," said Gjorgioski.
Macedonia - Albania match will be played on September 5. The first match was played in Shkodra and Albania prevailed with 2-1 score. The match was played during two consecutive days due to the massive rainfalls.
