Italy-Albania Disorders, Francs 100.000 Fine on AFF

A fine of Swiss Franc 100,000 Swiss was imposed on the Albanian Football Federation (AFF) for the unpleasant episodes of Palermo, where part of the fans of the "Illyrian Elite" group led to a brief interruption of the match after throwing torches on the field.

Albanian fans may take a deep breath of relief, because the restrictive measure could be even worse given the fact that this was a repeat episode and the National Team faced the risk of not having the support of its fans in the upcoming 2018 World Cup finals.

Albania eludes the severe punishment with only a fine, despite the conspicuous figure, due to the fact that Italy was the organizing country thus the direct responsible for the situation management. Thus, a Swiss Franc 15.000 fine has been imposed to the Italian Football Federation (IFF) for allowing the Albanian fans to light torches in the stadium’s stairs.
